State Public Service Commission (SPANP) was established in 1960 as the Enactment of the Commission No. 22/1960. Then Enactment No. SPANP. 22/1960 has been repealed and replaced with SPANP Enactment. No. 7/1991 which came into effect from 1 January 1992.

In accordance with Clause Four (4) Membership of the Commission are: -

     i) A Chairman
     ii) a Deputy Chairman and
    iii) Not less than four (4) members who shall all be appointed by the King of his discretion, but after considering the advice of in accordance with Section 4 (2) Enactment No. SPANP. 7/1991.
